The objective of this research is to know the effective of Jigsaw technique to teach reading recount text at the grade students of MTs YasiKronggenGrobogan in the academic year 2016/2017. The students got some problem in teaching learning process especially in reading class. From the observation, the researcher founded that they did not to understand about the generic structure, the difference between recount text, the language features, and they have limited vocabulary.So, they felt confused if they comprehend the sentence, paragraph or do exercise in recount text. This research was carried out of MTs YasiKronggen. In there, the students got some problems in teaching learning process especially in reading class. This research used type of experimental design is quasi experiment (pre-test post-test control group design). Here, the researcher takes the data from the second semester students VIII A and VIII C as the sample of the research. In this research The class VIII A as control group and VIII C as experimental group. Each class consists of 30 students. Dealing with the research instrument of collecting the data, the researcher uses a test. The test consists of pre-test and post-test. It was conducted before and after treatment. To analyze the data, the researcher applied the T-test The result of the researchis the students who are taught by Jigsaw techniquemore effective than who aretaught by using Three Phase Reading. It can be proved from the mean score of experimental group is 74.26 while the mean score of control group is 67.86. Those, from the score result of T-test (3.194) which is higher than T-table (2.000). It indicated that T-testis higher than T-table. Therefore, the alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted while the null Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.Based on the result above, the research findings, there is significant difference between students taught by Jigsaw technique and those who are taught by Three Phase Technique. It means that Jigsaw technique is effective to teach reading recount text at eight grade of MTs YasiKronggenGrbogan in the academic year 2016/ 2017.
