The objectives of this research are: (1) To know the level of students‟ interest in listening English songs. (2) To know the level of vocabulary mastery of students‟ interest in listening English songs. (3) To know whether there is positive and significant correlation between students‟ interest in listening English songs and their vocabulary mastery at Second Grade Students of MTs N Tinawas. This research is correlation study. The research was carried out at MTsN Tinawas in academic year 2016/2017.The population of this research was thesecond grade of MTsNTinawas. The total number of population was 44 students. The studentsof class VIII A as sample of test and VIII C as sample of try out test. The instruments in collecting data were tests and questionnaire. The tests were used to collect the data of vocabulary mastery while the questionnaire was used to collect the data of students‟ interest in listening English songs. The researcher used SPSS 20.0 to analyze the data. The result of the study show that there is a significant correlation between students‟ interest in listening English songs and the vocabulary mastery for the second grade students of MTs N Tinawas. The scale of coefficient determination R2= 0.528 so, total effective contribution of the two variable to the dependent variable is 64%. Regarding the result of the research, it can be concluded that both of vocabulary mastery and students‟ interst in listening English songs is positive correlation. xi
