Key Words : The Effectiveness, Subtitled Animation Video, Speaking Skill The problem statements of this research are: (1) Is there any significant difference the students Speaking skill who are taught by using subtitled video and who are taught by using video? (2) How do the students respond using subtitled animation video to teach speaking to seventh grade students of MTs Miftahul Huda Purwodadi in the Academic Year of 2016/2017?. The objective of this research is to find out whether using subtitled animation video is effective or not for teaching speaking for the seventh grade students of MTs Miftahul Huda Kuripan Purwodadi to teach speaking. The researcher used quantitative research with experimental design. The research was conducted at MTs Miftahul Huda Kuripan Purwodadi in academic year 2016/2017. The population of this research was the seventh grade of MTs Mftahul Huda. The population of research was 111 students. The sample was VII A class as experimental class and VII B as control class. The researcher used test to collect the data of the research. The researcher analyzed of the data by using t-test formula and questionnaire Likert Scale to analyze the second hypothesis. The research finding shows that (1) there is significant effectiveness using subtitled animation video to teach speaking for seventh grade students of MTs Miftahul Huda Kuripan Purwodadi in academic year 2016/2017 because the students taught by using subtitled animation video media have higher score than the students who without using subtitled animation video to teach speaking. The average score post-test in experimental class is 78.86 and the average score of post-test in control class is 64.11. It means that using subtitled animation video media is effective to teach speaking at the seventh grade students. It is proven by the result of t-test. The result of the t-test in post-test shows that t obtained is higher than t table (2,032 > 2,000) for level significance of 0,05 (5%). (2) There is positive students‟ response using subtitled animation video to teach speaking, because students more active, expressive, enjoyable, pleasant, enthusiasm, and enriches. The result of the analysis shows that the totals score 35 students with 20 questions is 1730 and the percentage of students‟ score is 72.08%. Based on the explanation criterion score, the percentages of students‟ can be categorized as agree.
