Advisor : Zainal Arifin, M.Pd Key words :Teaching Learning Process, Listening The objectives of this research is to describe the teaching lerning process of listening skill at SM Al-Firdaus Surakarta in 2016/2017 academic years. The researcher focuses on the teaching learning process of listening skill. The research was conducted in April until May 2017 in English teaching learning process at SM Al – Firdaus Surakarta. The researcher used descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of the research eleventh grade students of SM Al-Firdaus. The class consist of twenty seven studentsand the English teacher isNinikRahayu Ningsih S.Pd. The data were collected from the observation, interview and documentation. The data were analyzed by reducing the data, presenting the data and drawing conclution. This research used data triangulation to analyze the qualitative data, to examine the information with the document, and the last to know the relation among the theories used in this research toward the data research. The result showed that the teaching learning process in listening skill at SM Al-Firdaus. The components of teaching learning process, there are : student, teacher, goal, material, method, media, technique, strategies and evaluation. First, students have a problem when the learning takes place that is about the song in the play too fast and new vocabulary. But students can ask the teacher about the meaning of new vocabulary and repeat the song. Second, teacher prepare as much as possible to facilitate the process of teaching and learning. Third, goal of learning listening is how far the students listening concentration, because listening learning is a difficult learning and the students also have weakness of vocabullary so that the students can add new vocabulary from a song lyrics. Four, the materials that teachers use when teaching are teacher song lyrics. Five, the method used by the teacher are Audio Lingual Method (ALM) and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). Six, the media are leptop, two speakes, LCD projector and lyric song. Seven, the technique used by the teacher is fill in the blank. Eight, the strategies used by teacher is top down processing. The last, the evaluation, the teacher provides evaluation or feedback. The teaching learning process is kind.
