Hum The Key Word : Vocabulary, Writing, Recount text The Objectives of this research are (1) to describe the students‟ difficulties in using vocabs for writing recount texts at the tenth grade of MAN 3 Sragen, (2) to describe the teacher‟s strategies to solve the students‟ difficulties in using vocabs for writing recount texts at the tenth grade of MAN 3 Sragen. This research was conducted on teaching and learning process in English class at MAN 3 Sragen. The research design that is used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The sources of the data were from event, informant, and document. The data was collected from the documentation (Students‟ worksheet), interview, and observation. The data were analyzed by reducing the data, presenting the data, analyzing the data and taking the conclusion and verification. The findings of the study showed that, first the students had difficulties to express their ideas in long written language, the students still difficulties in the diction for arranging the sentences, the students were lack of vocabulary. The second, there were some strategies by the teacher in writing Recount text, are: 1) giving review to solve the difficulties 2) asking the students to write the difficult word 3) increasing new vocabulary every students 4) looking up at the dictionary in spelling and vocabulary problem.
