The optimum condi• tioh for produci_ngactivated charcoal from bakau (Mangrove) wa1at 700° C within 40 minute•. The yield wa1 78.0'foand the iodine num~er of 689.9 mg/g or 69.0%.A compariaon of rault1 with the 1urveyed data show• that the qualities of the activated charcoalobtained from the experiment iB comparable with the activated carbon from the commercial brand.
