- ABSTRACTOne of the threats to the protected and natural recreational park is invasion of exotic species, which alters the stability of biodiversity, natural functions, and decreases park’s value. Gunung Meja Recreational Park (RP), Manokwari, West Papua has overcome the issues of exotic plant species. This paper was directed to identify invasive plant species on the edges of the RP. Field surveys with exploration method followed by observation and identification were taken to list invasive plants in this research. The results showed 39 species from 19 families spread on the RP edges. These species were mostly Asteraceae and Fabaceae (8 species each), then Verbenaceae, Convolvulaceae, Commelinaceae, Euphorbiaceae and Piperaceae (2 species), and 1 species each from the family of Poaceae, Cyperaceae, Malvaceae, Bignoniaceae, Menispermaceae, Cannaceae, Acanthaceae, Solanaceae, Aristolochiaceae, Phyllantaceae, and Rubiaceae. Invasive plant species encountered from various form of habitus, which were shrubs, grass, sedge, clumps, lianas, and trees. There were at least 5(five) species need more attention, which were Chromolaena odorata (L.) R.M.King & H.Rob., Lantana cammara L., Merremia peltata (L.) Merrill, Mikania micrantha H.B.K., and Spathodea campanulata P.Beauv. These species has been listed nationally and globally as Invasive Alien Species which potentially bring detrimental impacts on biodiversity and ecosystem. Key word: invasive plant species, Gunung Meja Recreational Park, Manokwari ABSTRAK Salah satu ancaman terhadap kawasan lindung dan wisata alam adalah invasi tumbuhan asing yang seringkali mempengaruhi kondisi keanekaragaman hayati, fungsi-fungsi alami serta mengurangi keindahan kawasan. Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Gunung Meja, Manokwari, Papua Barat telah menghadapi masalah sebaran tumbuhan asing invasif. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis tumbuhan asing invasif yang menyebar di daerah tepi kawasan TWA Gunung Meja. Survei lapangan dengan metode penjelajahan diikuti dengan observasi dan identifikasi jenis dilaksanakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya 39 jenis tumbuhan asing dari 19 famili, yang berpotensi invasif dan mulai menyebar di tepi kawasan TWA Gunung Meja. Jenis-jenis ini berasal dari famili Asteraceae dan Fabaceae (masing-masing 8 jenis), famili Verbenaceae, Convolvulaceae, Commelinaceae, Euphorbiaceae dan Piperaceae (masing-masing 2 jenis), serta masing-masing 1 jenis dari famili Poaceae, Cyperaceae, Malvaceae, Bignoniaceae, Menispermaceae, Cannaceae, Acanthaceae, Solanaceae, Aristolochiaceae, Phyllantaceae, dan Rubiaceae. Jenis-jenis tersebut berasal dari beragam habitus seperti semak, rumput, teki, perdu, liana, dan pohon. Terdapat sedikitnya 5 (lima) jenis tumbuhan yang perlu diwaspadai, yaitu Chromolaena odorata (L.) R.M.King & H.Rob., Lantana cammara L., Merremia peltata (L.) Merrill, Mikania micrantha H.B.K., dan Spathodea campanulata P.Beauv. Jenis-jenis tersebut secara nasional dan global dikenal sebagai jenis asing invasif yang sangat berpotensi menyebabkan degradasi ekosistem dan hilangnya habitat.
