  • This research was about The Effectiveness Of Using Problem Based Learning Toward Students Writing Skill At Eighth Grade Of Smp N 02 Bangsri (A Quasi Experimental Research At Eighth Grade Of Smp N 02 Bangsri In The Academic Year Of 2021/2022). The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of problem based learning in teaching writing skills in the eighth grade of SMP 02 Bangsri. Experimental research is used in this study. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP 02 Bangsri, totaling 84 students divided into three classes. The data were obtained by a test which was divided into pre-treatment and post-treatment in an essay test. The data were analysed by using SPSS 24. From the computation of Independent sample t-test, It was known from the mean score both of the class, the experimental class was higher than the control class.In this calculation of post-test score in the experimental class and control class, the Sig. (2-tailed) was 0,000 was lower than the level of significance 0,05 (0,000 ˂0,05). It was indicated that there was a significant diference between students’ score posttest in experimental class which taught using Problem Based Learning and without using Problem Based Learning in control class.It can be concluded that the H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. It meant that there was significant difference on the students writing skills that tuse of Problem Based Learning was effective at the Eight grade of SMP N 2 BANGSRI in the Academic Year of 2021/2022.
