  • This thesis is entitled The Effectiveness of Using Animation Movie in Teaching Writing Narrative text (An Experimental Research in Teaching Writing Narrative Text of Islamic Junior High School of Al-Hikmah Pasir, Mijen, Demak in Academic Year 2017/2018). This is an experimental study that answers the two research questions: (1) Is the use of animation movie in teaching writing narrative text effective for the eighth grade students? (2) How far is the effectiveness of using animation movie to teach narrative text for the eighth grade students? The answers were proven through a research. In the research, the subject of the study was the eighth grade students of MTs Al-Hikmah Pasir in the academic year of 2017/2018. Both of groups used in this research: the experimental group and the control group. The two groups got different treatments. The experimental group was taught writing narrative text by using animation movies, while the control group was taught by using conventional method. The data were collected through writing narrative test. In collecting the data, the writer conducted three steps: pre-test, treatments, and post test. In the pre-test, the result of the two groups was nearly the same. The mean score of the experimental group was 37.325 and the mean score of the control group was 37.2. After receiving the different treatment, the two groups got the different results. The post-test mean score of the experimental group was 61.6 while the mean score of the control group was only 46.55. The significant difference between two groups showed that the use of animation movies in teaching narrative text was effective.
