THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TEACHING VOCABULARY THROUGH WORD WALL MEDIA (A Pre- Experimental Research at the Seventh Grade of MTs Nurul Athfal Pelang Mayong Jepara in the Academic Year of 2018/2019)

- The objective of this research was to get empirical data that Word Wall media is effective in improving students vocabulary at the seventh grade of MTs Nurul Athfal Pelang. In this research, the data was collected by using quantitative research through pre-experimental research. This research was carried out in one class. It was conducted from August 26th, 2018 to September 16th, 2018. The data were collected through test which were delivered into the pre-test and post-test. The research showed that through Word Wall media was able to improve the students’ vocabulary mastery. The students’ score on posttest were better in which the mean 84,48 than their scores on pre-test the mean 52,24. The result shows that –tcount -26,204 < -ttable -2,048 or tcount 26,204 > ttable 2,048. In addition, the two-tailed value of p was 0,000 which was lower than 0,05. Since the scores obtained from the result of calculating, Ho rejected because the significance <0,05 and tcount > ttable or –tcount < -ttable . In other word, the researcher hypothesis is accepted. The calculation t-test showed that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. It is mean that there was significant effect of teaching vocabulary through Word Wall media toward students’ vocabulary mastery. Therefore, teaching vocabulary through Word Wall media was effective.
