Daftar Isi:
- The objective of the research is to examine the how effective is the use of Listen-Read-Discuss to Improve the Students’ Reading Comprehension. The researcher found that the students had difficult to find main idea from the text. Because of the reason the researcher used a true experimental research using pre-test, treatment and post-test to the control and experimental group to achieve the objective of the study. The population of this study was Tenth Grade Students of MA Darul Hikmah Menganti. The sample of this study was class XIPA1 and XIPS1. The population of the students were 35 students both of them. The instrument that used by the writer was multiple choice test. There are three parts during the experiment. Before the experiment was conducted to both of class, the students were given a pre-test, after that they were given treatment, at last instrument they were given a post-test. The researcher used SPSS to analyze the data. The result of this study was compared and proved that there were any significant difference between before and after given treatment in experimental and control group. The result showed that the post-test scores were better than the pre-test scores. The average of experimental group was 63.37 (pre-test) and 80.91 (post-test) and the average for control group was 53,71 (pre-test) and 64 (post-test). The result of t-test the experimental group was 18.50 and the researcher used the degree of freedom significances 5%. It can be seen that on df 68 in significance 5% the value of degree was 1.995. It can be concluded that t-observe > t-table (18.50 > 1.995). The final conclusion there was significant difference between students who were taught by Listen-read-Discuss Strategy and without Listen-Read-Discuss Strategy. So that, Listen-Read-Discuss is very useful to teach reading comprehension.
