- This study aims to determine the effect of positive thinking training on academic self-efficacy of first-year students of Faculty of Psychology UNM. Research this was an experimental study with study design pre posttest one group design. Measuring instrument used in this study is academic self-efficacy scale. Participants in this study is a first year student of the Faculty of Psychology UNM as many as 15 people were put into the experimental group. The data analysis using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the training of positive thinking positive effect of increasing students' academic self-efficacy Faculty of Psychology UNM's first year, with a significance of p = 0.001 <0,05.Penelitian can be applied to improve the academic self-efficacy with positive thinking training and can be used as reference material for more research on positive thinking training and academic self-efficacy.
