- Abstract: In South Sulawesi, Lantana camara Linn. Know as the “tahi ayam” has long been used as a medicine to heal wounds on the skin and is believed to prevent infection. Many research results of the literature review reported secondary metabolites compounds this plant whith bioactivity. Scientifically gives these plants metabolize chemical compounds that are bioactive. This paper includes a literature review and an explanation of the description of secondary metabolites from L. camara Linn. Including the results of our research and testing bioactivity extract. Through screening and isolation methods with vacuum and column chromatography techniques, silica get as stationary phase and organic solvents as the mobile phase. Continuous with purification by recrytallization and identified with spectroscopic methods. The results obtained isolated from chloroform extract was identified as a triterpenoid compound is Lantaden B. Interpretation of test results supported the structure of reagen test, measuremen FTIR spectroscopy. H and C –NMR.
