- Abstract: Analysis of Word Writing Errors in the Descriptive Text of Grade VII B Students of SMP Kristen Gamaliel Makassar. This research is a qualitative research which aims to describe the forms of word writing errors and the factors causing the word writing errors in the descriptive text of grade VII B students of SMP Kristen Gamaliel Makassar. Data collection was carried out using documentation techniques to collect student descriptive texts and interview techniques were carried out by asking and answering each other regarding the errors in writing the words in the description text. The descriptive text and the transcript of the interview results were analyzed by means of a flow technique through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Nine forms of word writing errors found in the descriptive text of grade VII B students of SMP Kristen Gamaliel Makassar, namely errors in writing basic words, bound form, rephrasing, word combination, prepositions, particles, abbreviations and acronyms, number and numbers, and pronoun writing errors. The three factors that cause the errors in writing the word consist of not knowing that culminates in the habit, laziness, and forgetfulness. The factor of students not knowing the writing of the right word so that it leads to the habit of following the wrong word writing, mistakes that are actually realized to be incorrect, and the forgetfulness factor due to the lack of concentration of students. Abstrak: Analisis Kesalaha
