  • Abstract: This study aims to analysis the conversational contract that occurs between students. The method used in this study is ethnography of communication. The data were collected through observation and recording. The data source is the conversation that occurs between students. The findings show are: (1) The rights of conversation participants, the first, the right to request not always marked with the word "ask", but the sound pressure can be pointed out as a request. Second, the rights of conversation contract to ask the conversations characterized by the use of question words. Third, the rights of conversation participants are consent. Fourth, the rights of conversation participants are regarding criticism. (2) The obligations of conversation participants, first, the liability stated rejection, which is not always expressed with the word "no", but can use a variety of ways that implied a purpose to express disapproval. Second, the obligation of conversationcontract to respond. Responses can cause your opponent to self-correct speech and can also cause other people involved gain knowledge about a response. Third, the obligation of conversation contract to answer. The interactions if there is a question then of course need answers. However, not always the answers you need in line with expectations. This fact is often the case that the desired answer it is sometimes not accepted by the opponents said.
