- This study aims to formulate an epistemological basis or philosophical basis and paradigm of the Social Drama theory formulated by Victor W. Tuner. To achieve this goal, this study proposed two research questions. First is what are the basic assumptions, concepts and models used in the social drama perspective of Victor Turner's? Second, how is the epistemology based on the perspective of social drama that Turner builds? To answer these two questions, written data are needed in the form of articles, books, book chapters, and other information published online and relevant to the research theme. From the search conducted, that the epistemology of social drama theory from Victor W. Turner has a strong epistemology building, especially from the assumptions that are built. Neither assumptions about science, humans, or assumptions about the phenomenon under study. Epistemologically, Turner assumption, model, and value moves from positivist to phenomenology. As for the paradigmatic, social drama tends to lead to a functional structural paradigm.
