- iii ABSTRACK BAYAT CERAMIC (AESTHETIC, FORM AND FUNCTION) By: Prima Yustana, S.Sn., M.A. This study aims to examine the characteristics of ceramic products produced by the artisans in the city of Klaten, especially in Bayat and surrounding districts. The background of this research is the importance of the existence of Bayat districts are located between the city of Solo and Yogyakarta were supposed to be a major tourist destination, but until now still not so crowded as Kasongan in the city of Jogjakarta. There are some intriguing research question is whether the resulting ceramic products in Bayat under the influence of ceramic crafts center nearby towns, variations of which products are produced using oblique rotation tools, finishing techniques are to be used in executing artisans final results ceramic products, is there a natural finishing development that is developed in the area of ceramic craft centers in the district and surrounding Bayat and other issues concerning the marketing of products.This study will use a qualitative research method that is supported by data from several sampling craftsmen selected from representatives of the southern region of the main road and the north Pagerjurang main road. Interviews were also used in the search data and supported by the image data using a digital camera. In addition, another consideration in producing ceramic Bayat is famous for using a tilted position round or often called perbot skewed. Research targeted is to publish original ceramic products Bayat and variations so that the data will be useful for a promotional tour of the area to make it more widely known in the community. Identification of ceramic products is in Bayat and surrounding districts in the study of aesthetics, form and function are expected to provide a clear explanation if the ceramic products Bayat compiled in a book as a learning tool. Detailed product identification can be used also as a good reference artisans, community, artists and students to be able to develop ceramic products in particular in order to become more attractive and innovative.
