- Abstract: serat Wedhataya is a book, which explore to translate the kinds of movement in the Javanese traditional dance, particularly Surakarta style of dance. This translating supports to conserve about the repertoaire of movement as a symbols Javanese culture. Community of Yogyakarta in Surakarta wrote this book on 1923. The main content of Serat Wedhataya has al so involve in many kinds of philosophy values, which to contribute toward people how to make the soul to become mature by understanding of estelie! values in traditional of dance. In conclusion, Serat Wedhayata involves beside the high line of Javanese traditional dance, also to explore the philosophy of movement, according to the Javanese culture.
