- This article discusses about karawitan musicality of East Java style covering East Java instrumentation, East Java gending repertoire, style of East Java including balungan, instrumental technique, vocal and tempo. The discussion is descriptively explained by comparing it to other styles which become main streams in karawitan especially Surakarta style. The description and comparation show that East Java has a special characteristic compared to other regions in Central Java such as Surakarta.
