- Mandarin is a difficult subject because the teacheronly asks the students to memorize the Mandarin characters. The teacher has not given the effective ways to memorize the mandarin characters yet. The research is aimed at measuring the effectiveness of Mandarin characters comprehension through the historyof Mandarin characters. this research uses Contextual teaching and learning in order to the students are able to connect their academic knowledge with their own social life.
