- In the early 2011, revolutions demanding a system reform hit the Middle East and the North African countries. In Libya, the people went down the street demanding the end of Khadafi’s regime which had been running for 42 years. Many people became victims of the repressive response by the government. United Nations Security Council (UNSC) passed resolutions no. 1970 and 1973 which stated to give allowance to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to do such humanitarian intervention in Libya. NATO was appointed as the commando of “no flight zone” military operation. This intervention was started since March 19 2011. The forms of NATO’s involvement based on UNSC’s resolution number 1970 and number 1973 regarding conflict resolution in Libya are: first, conflict de-escalation by implementing “no flight zone” military operations, the embargo of armaments. Seconds, humanitarian intervention by monitoring humanitarian assistants to Libya. And third, peace-building by supporting National Transition Council (NTC) as an adinterim goverment of Libya.
