- Pesticides are the main choice of chilli farmers to control pests and diseases in plant’s, because it is more effective, practical, and crops also increased. They have not realized that the utilization of excessive agrochemical materials, in a long time can cause environmental damage, loss of soil containing nutrients and degradation of water quality. This research aims to analyze factors of related With Pesticide Usage Behavior as the effort prevention of environmental pollution on the chilli farmers in Kecamatan Wuluhan Kabupaten Jember. This research design was observational and based on the time of the survey used a cross sectional approach. The number of samples in this research were 68 samples taken by proportional cluster random sampling technique. Data were analyzed by using Lambda Asymmetry Associated test statistics with α = 0.05. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge, attitude of chili farmers and the role of the Department of Agriculture Jember with pesticide usage behavior as the effort prevention of environmental pollution. But, nothing significant relationship between the role of Chili Farmers Association Jember with pesticide usage behavior as the effort prevention of environmental pollution. Based on these results, it is expected that the Department of Agriculture and Chili Farmers Association Jember to increase their roles of providing guidance, counsel, and supervise the conduct of chilli farmers in using pesticides to prevent environmental pollution, expecially in improving knowledge and attitudes of chili farmers toward pesticide so can make the effort prevention of environmental pollution and create a quality environment.
