  • Rubber Industry use chemicals as an ingredient of latex coagulant and water in a large amount enough to wash tanks where latex is placed and for the grinding process. Waste produced contains rubber components in the form of proteins, lipids, carotenoids, and inorganic salts and latex that is not coagulated and chemicals added during processing. Kendeng Lembu Plantations is the best in Banyuwangi. It has a rubber industry with liquid waste processing systems include 5 aerobic pools. Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and Dissolved Oxygen (DO) is the key parameters to know the quality of industry’s liquid waste. The research was conducted by testing samples of waste water in each pool with the three times sampling. BOD and COD levels reached the highest levels in the second sampling at 13.00. This happens due to the addition of formc acid in the process of latex coagulation. Formic acid can make a liquid waste generated is more acidic, so aerobic bacteria in the sewage treatment pool may not work because the optimum pH are not on, which is 6.5 to 8. For BOD and COD levels of all sample are mostly fluctuates, with slight differences and the level decrease of pool 1 through 5 is still occur.
