Central ion is metal ion from alkali, alkali tanah, and transition metal. Ligand is anion or nautral molecul. Now much synthese compound complexes with ligand from world material. World material used for ligand must have atom free electron pairs which can donor pass. One of world material used as ligand is carboxil anion. Carboxil anion have carboxil group which can free electron pairs from oxygen atom to central atom so can function as ligand. Carboxil anion obtain from oil, like coconut oil, Jatroha Curcas Linn oil, and palm oil. Complexes compound synthese can used as compound material of waxs so coloring produce result is interest like flame coloring of metal kation in used. This research synthese nickel complexes with carboxil ligand whice give flame coloring if flamed so can increase aesthetics price of waxs. Purpose this research is synthesis nickel complexe compound with carboxil ligand with trans-saponification reaction between sodium soap and nickel(II) chloride and then characterization until their potential test for waxs flame coloring. This research is consist of three steps that is: (1) synthesis, include two steps that is sodium soap by saponification reaction between crude palm oil with sodium hydroxide and nickel carboxyl complexe compound’s by trans-saponification reaction between sodium soap and nickel(II) chloride; (2) characterization by determining melting point, analyze of nickel metal with X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), identification of cluster fungtion with infrared spectroscopy, and solubility test along with magnetic susceptible test with Magnetic Susceptibility Balances (MSB); (3) Application, addednickel carboxyl complexe compound’s into paraffin with certain ratioand then flame colour test with nichromeThe result of this research are : (1) sodium soap’s color is white; solved inside water, octanol, glycerol, and compounds paraffin-octanol; dissolved inside n-heksane, melting point 91-92 oC; and yield is 71,52%. (2) Nickel carboxyl complexe compound’s color is green; dissolve inside water, glycerol, and n-heksane; solve inside octanol and compounds paraffin-octanol (2:1); melting point 115-124 oC; and yield is 70,27%. (3) Compound of synthesis product have parramgnetic characteristic with μeff = 2,20 BM. (4) The flame’s test complexe compound with nichrome and compounding with paraffin is red.
