A slogan is a memorable motto or phrases that always attaches in our daily affairs as a repetitive expression of an idea or purpose which is usually used in public businesses that functions to attract readers’ attentions. One of the representations of slogan can be seen in Aremania’s slogans. Aremania is one of the biggest supporter communities of Arema Cronous Football Club, from Malang, East Java. They write slogans for the purpose of supporting their team by using banner. The uniqueness is in the structures and meanings of slogans as the expressions of ideas and opinions. In this study, the researcher identifies: (a) What type of slogan mostly used in Aremania English-slogans is, (b) What the word orders used in Aremania English-slogans are, and (c) What sociopragmatic meanings of the words of Aremania English-slogans are. The research is descriptive-qualitative. The data were taken from banners which were spread out in Kanjuruhan Stadium by taking picture of them in certain period of time. Out of fifty banners, twenty six banners written in English were selected. The researcher explored and explained the types of slogans, word orders and sociopragmatic meanings that are used in Aremania English-slogans. In this research, the researcher focused on types of slogan (Franz, 2007), syntactic aspects, and positive politeness strategies (Brown and Levinson, 1987) being articulated in Aremania English-slogans. The findings showed that Aremania English-slogans mostly are feature slogans (65, 3%). It mostly uses declarative and imperative sentence (47, 3%) which contain ellipsis (77, 8%) and noun-phrase (NP) (62, 5%). The positive politeness strategies found in Aremania English-slogans are exaggerate, use in-group identity markers, be optimistic, include both S and H in the activity, give (or ask) reasons, and give gifts to H. Overall, the Aremania English-slogan is the reflection of the unity between Arema and Aremania which exist in society. It also aims at building the sense of closeness and intimacy to expect the following actions by sharing the knowledge and interest, and sense of belonging toward individual and community. Moreover, the slogans also become the identity and pride that they always keep it in the high position. Finally, the researcher suggests further researchers on exploring similar topic in other media, e.g. websites or magazines with different perspective and aspects, e.g. Semantics, Semiotics, Stylistics or other Linguistic aspects.
