On basketball, agility is very important at defense, a defensive player must be spry to keep opponent player’s attack , because at defense needs multidirectional movements to contain the opponent's attack. To get a good agility, need a consistent exercise. One of the tools to support for training agility is ladder drill. Some examples ladder drill exercises to improve agility are ickey shuffle and x-over zig zag. In extracurricular of basketball activities who has observed, get not expected result, many men participants of extracurricular basketball in SMA Negeri 1 Lawang are less, this is evidence by researcher by t-test agility with result 56% athlete are poor, 25% athlete are average, and just 18,75% athlete are good. So they must give exercises to improve agility as Ladder Driil Ickey Shuffle and Ladder Driil X-Over Zig Zag ,The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of exercise Ladder Ickey Shuffle and Ladder X-Over Zig Zag to increased agility of men participants in extracurricular of basketball in SMA Negeri 1 Lawang. Treatment was given for 16 sessions over 6 weeks, plus 2 sessions for pre test before treatment and post test in the last session after treatment.This study uses Control group pre test - post test design model were divided into 2 groups. The population in this study are men participants in extracurricular of basketball in SMA Negeri 1 Lawang totaling 25 students and 20 students of samples taken by ordinal pairing. Data collection techniques using agility T-test. Data were analyzed using Paired Sample T-Test and Independent Sample T-Test using SPSS 23.The results of analysis Paired Sample T-Test on ickey shuffle group gained significance value of (0.011) is smaller than the significance level of 0.05 means the agility increased. on x-over zig zag group gained significance value of (0.002) is smaller than the significance level of 0.05 means the agility increase. Results from Independent Sample T-Test gained significance value (p) of 0.779 is greater than the significance level of 0.05 means nothing differences influence to increase agility. So can be concluded that there was nothing significant difference between exercise ickey shuffle and x-over zig zag to increased agility, because each exercise can increase the agility of men participants extracurricular of basketball in SMA Negeri 1 Lawang. Suggestions for next study, expected through the limitations of this study can be used as a basis to conduct further research to be developed like more independent variables used, taking more samples, and also long exercise so you can find the results are significant differences to improve agility between ickey shuffle exercises or x-over zig zag exercises.
