- Abstrak: penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menerapkan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan Mind Mapping. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dan masing-masing siklus terdiri dari tiga pertemuan. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPS 2 SMAN 1 Genteng Kabupaten Banyuwangi tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi, tes, dan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajara Problem Based Learning berbantuan Mind Mapping ini dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 69,3 pada siklus I dan mengalami peningkatan nilai rata-rata motivasi sebesar 81 pada siklus II. Sedangkan untuk kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa nilai rata-rata pada siklus I sebesar 70,8 dan mengalami peningkatan nilai rata-rata sebesar 79,8 pada siklus II. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning berbantuan Mind Mapping dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Kata Kunci: Problem Based Learning, Mind Mapping, Motivasi, Berpikir Kritis Abstract: this study aims to improve learning motivation and critical thinking skills of students by applying the model of Problem Based Learning with Mind Mapping. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) conducted in two cycles and each cycle consists of three meetings. The subjects of the study were the students of class XI IPS 2 SMAN 1 Genteng Kabupaten Banyuwangi academic year 2017/2018. Data collection techniques use observation sheets, tests, and questionnaires. The result of this research shows that the model of Learning Based Learning Learning with Mind Mapping can increase the learning motivation with the average score of 69.3 in cycle I and increase the average score of motivation 81 on cycle II. While for students' critical thinking ability, the average score in cycle I was 70.8 and experienced an average score increase of 79.8 in cycle II. This result shows that the model of Problem Based Learning with Mind Mapping can improve motivation and students' critical thinking ability.
