  • Ptyas korros snake is often used for consumption and traditional medicine in Indonesia. Despite often consumed by human, research on diseases in Ptyas korros snake is still rare. One of the possible disease that could infect snake and transmitted to human is acanthocephaliasis, infection from worm from the phylum acanthocephala. The aim of this research is to determine worm from the phylum acanthocephala in the Ptyas korros snake that will be consumed human in Sidoarjo, East Java. This research was taken from Juny to September 2019. This research using Ptyas korros snake obtained from the collector of snake traders in the Tulangan, Sidoarjo, East Java. The acanthocephala test uses the Semichen-acetic Carmine method, and is analytic in its distinctive form using the microscope with magnification of 40x. A total of 40 snakes of Ptyas korros were used in this research. The identification of acanthocephala was conducted in the Parasitology laboratory, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Airlangga University. The result showed that acanthocephala has been found in the abdominal cavity in all snake. The conclusion of the research was found acanthocephala in the abdominal cavity in all sampels of Ptyas korros snake taken from Tulangan, Sidoarjo.
