- Toxoplasmosis is a zoonotic disease caused by Toxoplasma gondii. Toxoplasma gondii is parasit which infects warm-blooded host, including human. Cats and felidae are devinitive host for Toxoplasma gondiiwhich is in the body of the cat and felidae only can product oocyst. There are several methods to diagnose toxoplasmosis. The purpose of this research is to know the prevalence of Toxoplasma gondii infection in aninal hospital and pet clinics in Surabaya. This research used 50 samples of diarrhea cat feces. Sample examined using microscopic method and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Primer used in this reseasch is B1 Primer. From 50 examined samples, 7 samples (14%) positive infected by Toxoplasma gondii used microscopic method, and 2 samples (4%) positive used Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) using B1 primer.
