  • Background: In 2016, Badan Pusat Statistik Surabaya recorded that 872 elderly in Surabaya live in nursing home. Elderly who spent their life time in the nursing home need help. Nurses that make contacts with elderly in 24 hours have important role to improve elderly’s quality of life during their end of life. This study aimed to explore nurses experiences in elderly’s end of life care in Griya Werdha Jambangan Surabaya nursing home deeply. Method: This study uses phenomenological qualitative design with in-depth interview on 14 participants. Analysis: Data analyzed using nine Collaizi step (1978). Result: There were 6 themes in this study as follows: 1) Value, 2) feelings, 3) attitude, 4) needs, 5) positive meanings and 6) obstacles that contains 21 subthemes. Discussion and Conclusion: Nurses experiences in elderly end of life care in accompaniment, care and fulfillment of elderly needs are nurses responsibilities. It is hoped that this study can be the basis for further study on promotion programs and can be a model of gerontic nursing intervention, especially the elderly end of life care.
