  • Introduction : Indonesian government try to optimize the use of long-term contraceptive methods, that was intrauterine device. However, the growth of intrauterine device usage was low (7.23%). The aim of this research was analyze the health belief model factors with women of childbearing-age couples in choosing intrauterine device. Methods: This research used a cross-sectional approach. The population was women women of childbearing-age couples in Ngudikan Village Nganjuk. The sample in research were 109 respondens with cluster sampling techniques. The independent variables was health belief model factors and the dependent variable was decision of women childbearing-age couples in choosing intrauterine devices. Data was collected by form of health belief model and analyzed by using spearman rho test with significant level α ≤ 0.05. Results : The result informed that there was correlation between the perceived susceptibility (p=0.000), seriousness (p=0.000), perceived benefit (p=0.033), perceived selfefficacy (p=0.008) and cues to action (p=0.006) with the choice of intrauterine device in positive direction. Perceived barrier (p=0.000) had high correlation with the choice intrauterine device in negative direction. Analysis: The higher of perception as susceptibility, seriousness, benefit, self-efficacy and cues to action would increase the possibility women of childbearing-age couples to choose intrauterine device. The lower of perceived barrier will increase possibility women of childbearing-age couples use intrauterine device. Discussion : The future research can develop factor choosing contraception on intrauterine device user.
