- The aim of this study was to determine the teraphy effect of 96% ethanol extract gel of Gedi Merah (Abelmoschus manihot (L.) MEDIK) leaf on the blood leukocyte profile of male white rats with second degree skin burn injury. Thirty male rats (Rattus norvegicus), 3 months of age, 200 gram body weight were used. This research consisted of five treatments (P0, P1, P2, P3 and P4). P0 were normal skin, P1 were used 1% silver sulfadiazine, P2, P3, and P4 are GEDGM with increase concentration i.e. 6,25%, 12,5%, and 25%. Treatments had been given topically for 14 days, twice a day, started at the time after burn injury application. The samples of blood using EDTA were collected at the eighth and fifteenth day after the burn injury was made. Observation using Hematology Analyzer Sysmex XT-2000i on the blood showed that the effect of day, treatments, and the combination of both has no significant difference (p>0,05). The conclusion of this study was the 96% ethanol extract gel of Gedi Merah (Abelmoschus manihot (L.) MEDIK) leaf (GEDGM) has no significant effect on the blood leukocyte profile of the male white rat with burn injury.
