  • This study aimed to examine how effective the support group to enhance self-acceptance parents whose children were diagnosed with hemophilia in the past year at X Surabaya General Hospital and Y Semarang Center Hospital. The study was conducted with six parents. Data collection tool used is the self-acceptance scale developed based on self-acceptance aspects by Williams & Lynn (2010). Data analysis was performed with the Mann-Whitney U test, with the help of statistical program SPSS version 16.00. The results showed that there was a difference between self acceptance scores in the experimental group and the control group after the administration of treatment. That difference has a significance of 0.046, p <0.05. The value of the effectiveness of the support group is a great value (r = 0.80). This suggests that support group in this research is an effective way to enhance self acceptance parents whose children were diagnosed with hemophilia.
