COST OF ILLNESS PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DENGAN TERAPI TUNGGAL GOLONGAN SULFONILUREA DI BEBERAPA PUSKESMAS WILAYAH SURABAYA

- This study aimed to determine the cost of illness in patients Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 with monotherapy of sulphonylurea at 10 primary health care centre that have the highest number of DM patients in the Surabaya. This study was a cross sectional study using total sampling. Calculation cost of illness uses a list of questions. This study was conducted on 30 patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 at 10 primary health care centre in the Surabaya. Sulphonylureas prescribed at several primary health care centre were Glibenklamid and Glimepirid. Total cost in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients with sulphonylurea monotherapy at several primary health care centre in Surabaya was Rp25.684.718,-/year. The biggest cost was indirect cost which was cost of lost productivity Rp 185.632,- ± 200.011/year. The lowest cost was cost of side effects. To conclude, the higher cost was cost of lost productivity. Costs in patients influenced by a number of medicine on prescription. Little medicine caused patients often went to primary health care centre. The higher frequency went to primary health care centre would be made a biggest cost.
