SENSITIVITAS PROBE pH METER MODIFIKASI SEBAGAI DETEKSI PERSENTASE KEBUNTINGAN PADA SAPI PERAH DI KUD TANI WILIS KABUPATEN TULUNGAGUNG

- This research was aimed to determine sensitivity of modified pH metre probe to detected the percentage of pregnancy in dairy cows at KUD Tani Wilis Tulungagung. This research used 60 estrus dairy cows that taken by randomly sampling. The pH examination used a modified pH metre probe by put in approaximately 1/3 part of the probe into cow’s vagina or until the probe’s tip reach the cervix. The data was collected in pH range 7.16-7.48. After 60th days of insemination, the result was checked by rectal palpation. It showed that 43 cows were pregnant and 17 cows not pregnant. For this reason, the percentage of pregnancy on this research is 71.6%. The data of cervical mucus pH which examined by statistical method showed that it is not significant (p>0.05). It is evident that pH of cervical mucus is not only factor that influence the pregnancy in dairy cows. The sensitivity of this probe is 78.18%. The conclusion of this research is modified pH metre probe can be used to detect the pH of cervical mucus and has a good sensitivity as a percentage detection of pregnancy in dairy cows.
