- Breast Milk (ASI) becomes the best nutrition for babies. Low intake of exclusive breastfeeding is a threat of child growth and development. Breastfeeding becomes every mother's right. Several factors influence mother’s role in breastfeeding, such as working mothers. Mothers who work in factories cause increasing failure in breastfeeding. Working mothers have difficulties in giving exclusive breastfeeding to their babies. In fact, 45 - 60% workforce in industrialized countries are mostly reproductive age women. This study aims to analyze factors related to exclusive breastfeeding by factories worker mothers in Kalirungkut Health Center Surabaya. Method: This study was a descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The population was mothers who had babies aged 6 - 12 months and worked at factory in Kalirungkut Health Center Surabaya. There were 65 respondents which obtained from the purposive sampling technique. The independent variables were knowledge, attitude, availability of breastfeeding facilities, superiors and colleagues support. The dependent variable was exclusive breastfeeding by factories worker mothers. The data collection used a questionnaire and analyzed using chi-square with a significance level of α <0.05. Results: The results showed the variable of knowledge (p = 0.043), attitude (p = 0.018), availability of breastfeeding facilities (p = 0.007), superiors support (p = 0.009), colleagues support (p = 0.188). Discussion: For further research, it is expected to make a program design of behavior intervention module on exclusive breastfeeding for factories worker mothers in increasing exclusive breastfeeding coverage rate. Also adding other factors influence factories worker mothers in giving exclusive breastfeeding.
