- Traditional bone healing has still been an alternative bone healing for Indonesian, despite the large number of available health care services, the majority of people in Indonesia especially patients with musculoskeletal injuries tend to seek treatment to cure their illness to traditional bone setter. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence decision making in patients with musculoskeletal injury who choose treatment to traditional bone setter based on Health Belief Model theory approach. Methods: descriptive analytic research design involving 109 respondents based on the seleted criteria by using consecutive sampling. The independent variable is the modifying factor: age, gender, education, socioeconomic, family experience; individual belief: perceived benefit, perceived barriers, self efficacy. The dependent variable is decision making. Data were obtained using questionnaires which were then analyzed using Spearman's rho and Chi - Square with a degree of significance α ≤ 0.05. Results and analyze: factors influencing decision making are age (p = 0,071), education (p = 0,077), socioeconomic (p = 0,035), gender (p = 0,324), family experience (p = 0,019) perceived benefit (p = 0,000), perceived barrier (p = 0,000), self efficacy (p = 0,000). Discussion: age, education and sex are not affect decision making in patients with musculoskeletal injuries who chose to seek treatment for putting them off. Suggestions for further research are expected to use respondents who have educational background in health, so they wold have an overview of the health care belief model on individuals who has the knowledge and prefer to seek treatment to traditional bone setter.
