- The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between self-control and tendency of juvenile delinquency in adolescents with divorced parents. Juvenile delinquency tendency is a desire to conduct adolescents behavior that is contrary to society norms, that cannot be accepted by society (Santrock, 2002).One of factors that contribute to juvenile delinquency is self-control. Self-control is the ability to override or change one’s inner responses as well as to interrupt undesired behavioral tendencies and refrain from acting on them (Tangney, et al., 2004). The study involved 35 adolescents aged 12-18 years old who live with their single parents because of divorce. The data used in this study was obtained with two self-report questionnaires which are Bahasa Indonesia adaption of Self-Control Scale (2004) consisted 36 items to assess self-control and a 38 items-scale constructed by the researcher to measure juvenile delinquency tendency. The data was analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistic 22.0 for Windows with Pearson Product Moment’s analysis technique.
