  • The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different time equilibration on motility, viability, and abnormalities of rambon bull’s spermatozoa before freezing. The study conducted from January to February 2019 at the Laboratory Airlangga University PSDKU in Banyuwangi. The semen of rambon bull was collected by artificial vagina. This study used a completely randomized design with four treatments, they are equilibration time P1 (2 hours), P2 (3 hours), P3 (4 hours) and P4 (5 hours), and five respectively. The results of motilities using One Way Anova statistical analysis continued by Duncan Test were (P1) 76,00±2,2/3, (P2) 73,00±2,7/3, (P3) 67,00±2,7/3, and (P4) 52,00±2,7/2. The result of viabilities were (P1) 86,00±1,41, (P2) 78,00±2,73, (P3) 72,60±5,70 and (P4) 57,00±2,73 while the result of abnormalities were (P1) 3,7±0,75, (P2) 3,8±0,75, (P3) 4,4±1,08 and (P4) 5,2±0,57. The conclusion of this study showed that the results were significantly different (p <0.05) between the equilibration time and the quality of the rambon bull spermatozoa before freezing. The highest percentage of motility and viability was at the 2 hour equilibration time whereas the lowest percentage of abnormalities was at the 2 hour equilibration time.
