- In Indonesia, English is a compulsory subject since elementary school. Nowadays English language has been taught since in the 1St grade of elementary school. In the 151 grade of elementary school, teachers usually teach the students with common nouns, for example: the names of the day, names of the body parts, and places. In the higher grade of elementary school. the materials are more complex, such as the names of animals and occupations. At this grade the teachers also ask the students to read some texts and answer some questions. In some International and National plus kindergartens, they also teach English in very early age, for example in Cita Hati School. This school teaches English since the students enter the school in the age 4 years old.
