  • Enteritis is a gastrointestinal disease that is in the form of inflammation of the intestine caused by foreign substance that accompanied pathogenic microorganisms. Enteritis can be caused by several things, among which viral infections, bacteria, parasites, diet, deficiency of enzymes, antibiotics and toxins. This study aims to determine the prevalence of enteritis in cats, observed and determine the relationship between cat age, sex, breed, and season of cats in three animal hospital of Surabaya. There are Animals Hospital and Education Veterinary Medicine Faculty of Airlangga University, Animal Hospital of Surabaya Zoo, and Animals Hospital of Animal Husbandry Departement in East Java. The results showed that the prevalence of enteritis in cats that have been examined in three animal hospital is high with prevalence rates in 2006 amounted to 10.03%, in 2007 amounted to 10.94%, in 2008 was 7.27% and in 2009 amounted 6.94%. This aims study to The results show that prevalence of enteritis on cats rates in 0 – 5 months was highly between a group of cats aged 5 months – 1 years and a group of cats cats aged > 1 years. It mean aged influence the incidence of enteritis in cats. But sex, breed, and season did not influence the incidence of enteritis in cats.
