- Cases of industrial accidents related to the use of chemicals are mainly caused by lack of information about chemicals handling. Information about the handling of such chemicals can be known from the MSDS. The use of MSDS in industries should be regulated by rules or policies. The aims of this research was to describe company policies and employee knowledge about MSDS in PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia, Tbk Unit Gedangan. This research was a descriptive study with observational data collection. Primary data were obtained from observation, interview and questionnaires, whereas secondary data was obtained from the company's documents. The data were processed and discussed through theoretical comparison. Eleven respondents were involved in this research. This research revealed that the company had already has occupational health and safety policy and control policy in the form SOP for chemical fumigation, however the implementation of this policies is still lacking, while the implementation for SOP fumigation was by giving sanctions for employees who did not follow the SOP. The knowledge of employees on raw materials warehouse employees about MSDS were mostly good (81,82%). This research concluded that the company policy and knowledge of employees about MSDS are also good, but there is still need the rule for the implementation of occupational health and safety policy, two-way communication, increasing training and change the form of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
