- The third-stage (L3) larvae of Anisakis sp., which are being the etiological agents of human anisakiasis, have been categorized morphologically into Anisakis Type I, II, III and type IV larvae. This study aims to determine the type of morphology Anisakis sp. in the groupers (Epinephelus sp.) at PPP Mayangan Probolinggo. The sample used was 48 groupers with a variety of body weight categories and observed their third-stage (L3) larva of Anisakis spp. in the abdominal cavity, visceral organs and the musculus. Morphology identification of Anisakis sp. done by using the method of glycerine dipping, semichen-acetic carmine, and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results showed that the type of Anisakis sp. that found in groupers at PPP Mayangan Probolinggo was Anisakis type 1. It was identified white larvae with a length of 15 to 25 mm and a width from 0.45 to 0.48 mm, length ventriculus of 0.69 to 0.74 mm, boring tooth at anterior body and mukron with a size of 22.02 μm in Anisakis sp. type 1 larvae A and 6.33 μm in Anisakis sp. type 1 larvae B, both of Anisakis sp. larvae A and B has mukron on their posterior body, the other formations found on the surface of the body of Anisakis sp. using various morphological identification methods was nerve ring, esophagus, intestine, extrectory pore, oral sucker and anus as important formation of Anisakis sp.
