  • Human Immunodeficiency Virus or HIV is a type of virus that infects white blood cells which results in the decline of the human immune system. As a result of the decline in the immune system, a person affected by HIV / AIDS is easily exposed to various infectious diseases (opportunistic infections) which often have fatal consequences, especially on the health of the oral cavity and human periodontal tissue. and periodontal status in vulnerable populations of HIV / AIDS in the city of Surabaya. Method: This study was an observational cross sectional analytic conducted in several health centers in the city of Surabaya with 67 samples included in individuals who had engaged in sexual intercourse. Data collection obtained from the questionnaire was then tested using a correlation test. Results: The distribution of health behaviors maintains dental health and patient status is highest in late adolescents (25-35), the average respondent who works as a private sector and the income of respondents is around 1-2 million rupiah. Male respondents have high debris index scores, high calculus indexes, and OHIs than women. Conclusions: There is a relationship between knowledge, action, and behavior of maintaining oral health with the oral Hygiene Index (OHI-S) in vulnerable populations of HIV / AIDS. There was correlation between periodontal Bleed On Probing (BOP) status, and pocket) with the behavior of maintaining oral health. There is a relationship between periodontal status (BOP bleed on probing,and pocket) and knowledge of dental and oral health. There was correlation between periodontal status and sexual behavior
