- The aim of the research was to know about the effect of Acalypha indica Linn extract toward the blood tryglycerides level of male rats induced by pig oil. Twenty male rats (Rattus novergicus) were divided into five groups. The negative control group K(-) was given with CMC-Na during the therapy period, the positive control group K(+) was given with pig oil for 56 days. The treatment group 1 P(1) was given with pig oil and per oral therapy with extract of Indian Acalypha 200 mg / kg bw, the treatment group 2 (P2) was given with pig oil and per oral therapy with extract of Indian Acalypha 400 mg / kg bw, and the treatment group 3 (P3) was given with pig oil and per oral therapy with extract of Indian Acalypha 800 mg / kg bw. The therapy was given for 63 days, all rats were sacrificed and blood triglycerides level were examined with GPO-PAP (glycerol phospat oxydae-phenyl aminophyrazolon) methods. The result of the data analysis test using one-way ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) showed that there were not significant differences between the group of animals that received standard feed and the group of animals that were given with pig oil. In conclusion, Acalypha indica Linn with dose of 200 mg/kg/day, 400 mg/kg/day, and 800 mg/kg/day did not have effect in lowering levels of triglycerides in blood.
