- The purpose of this research is to know cross reaction Fasciola gigantica protein with anti-Moniezia expansa serum by using Western blot test. Fasciola gigantica worm was collected from bile duct and gall bladder of cattle and Moniezia expansa worm was collected from small intestine of goat. The worms were crushed with mortar, then add 2 ml of Phospate Buffer Saline (PBS), after that centrifuge at a speed 3500 rpm for 15 minutes. Homogenate Moniezia expansa was immunized to mice to obtain serum anti-Moniezia expansa at a dose 200 μg/mice and booster 3 times with a span of two weeks. The homogenates was performed by SDS-PAGE technique to analyze the protein by using Commasie briliant blue staining. The result showed the existence of cross-reaction of Fasciola gigantica antigen with anti-Moniezia expansa serum by using Western blot test in a protein with a molecular weight of 54, 45, 35, 30, and 25 kDa.
