  • Antibiotic resistance is a serious health problem because it caused uneffective therapy. The cause of antibiotic resistant is 80% comes from food of animal origin such as broiler chicken swab. Contaminant of E. coli that resistant to antibiotic in broilers flesh shown can transfer genetic factor to other bacteria in human intestinal. The use of antibiotics in the feed is one of the risk factors for resistance. The objective of this study was to find out wether in the flesh of broilers that circulate in traditional market Sidoarjo found E.coli that resistance to tetracycline, cefotaxime, ceftriaxone, gentamycin and meropenem. This study was conducted by taking 30 sample from 5 traditional markets in Sidoarjo and analyzed by Kirby-Bauer method. The taking sample process is done by using purposive sampling method, its result was analyzed descriptively. The result of the study showed that 15 broilers sample had tetracycline antibiotic resistant, 1 sample had ceftriaxone, 2 sample had cefotaxime, and 1 sample have gentamycin.
