- Background: The lack of mother’s knowledge on grand multiparous regarding the requirements of the long-term contraceptive methods use. The low support of husband’s decision in using the long-term contraceptive methods resulted in the low use of the long-term contraceptive methods. It occurs a high opportunity of pregnancy in the grand multiparous mother would cause complications that can lead to maternal mortality. Methods: This research used an observational analytic research with cross-sectional approach. There were 45 samples of grand multiparous mothers. The sampling was conducted with the total sampling. The independent variable in this research was the mother's knowledge and the husband support, while the dependent variable was the use of the long-term contraceptive methods. For the data collections tested by using Chi-square (x2) statistical test on significance level ɑ= 0.05. Results: The research result on the relationship between the mother’s knowledge for the long-term contraceptive methods use with the Chi-square test (x2). The results obtained p-value = 0.0000. Moreover, the relationship between the husband’s support for the long-term contraceptive methods use with the Chi-square test (x2). The results obtained p-value = 0.0000. Conclusion: There was a correlation between the mother's knowledge and husband support towards the use of the long-term contraceptive methods on grand multiparous. The better mother's knowledge and the higher husband support of the long-term contraceptive methods would increase the awareness and motivation of Grand multiparous mother in decided to using of the long-term contraceptive methods.
