  • Introduction: Psychosocial problem that frequently occur in elderly is anxiety. Anxiety may lead to cognitive impairment, mood disorder, and other emotional ilnessess. Tera exercise is one of non pharmacology therapies that could be given to elderly with anxiety. The movements in Tera exercise can create a process to produce ß-endorphin that can provoke effects that can reduce the number of anxiety level. The study was aimed to analyze the influence of Tera exercise on anxiety level of elderly in Panti Werdha Hargo Dedali Surabaya. Methods: The study was used pre-experimental method with one group pra-post test design. Population in the study were 51 and 15 of elderly in Panti Tresna Werdha Hargo Dedali Surabaya were used as sample by using purposive sampling. Tera exercise used as independent variable, meanwhile, dependent was anxiety level. The instrument was Geriatric Anxiety Inventory (GAI) questionnaire and data analysis was used Wilcoxon signed rank test. Result: The result showed that tera exercise had effect on respondents anxiety level with p= 0,001 of the significance value. Discussion: Tera Exercise has an impact towards the decreasing rate of anxiety level in Panti Tresna Werdha Hargo Dedali Surabaya. Further researchers should conduct studies with more sample sizes and using the control groups.
