- Immunization is one of preventive efforts undertaken by the government in preventing children from infectious diseases. But in Surabaya itself, there are parents who do not complete the baby basic immunization. There are alot of reasons which made them not to immunize the baby. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship both parental perception and basic immunization completion in 9-12 months baby. The research design used is crossectional by using parents of 9-12 months babies who are in coverage of Puskesmas Pegirian Surabaya. Power Analysis was used to determining the sample was 71 people. The sampling technique used is a simple random sampling that has been previously sampled frame of 80 people and randomized through random.org. The collected data used questionnaires and assessment sheets of basic immunization completeness, then it was analyzed by using chi square statistical analysis with p < 0,05 The result of statistical test shows thatX2 = 25.033a and p = < 0,00. The results of the study showed that parents who docomplete the basic immunization through their baby tend to have a positif perception of basic immunization. It can be concluded that parents' perceptions of basic immunization affect the parental behavior in completing basic immunization.The researchers can conduct qualitative descriptive research to explain the various factors causing perception of basic immunization with basic immunization completeness in 9-12 months baby.
